Day 0
156 pounds | chest 40″ |waist 33″ | hips 42“
Dear Diary,
Just like the detox week, day zero was a prep day to set myself up for success! I identified anything throughout the week that may get in my way and tried to address it. I meal prepped, washed all gym clothes, placed things in areas so I don’t have to hunt for them. I also made sure my alerts and calendars were all up to date to assure I have time blocks for all that needs to get done. I’m ready for tomorrow!
Day 1
156 pounds | chest 40″ |waist 33″ | hips 42“
Dear Diary,
Today started and ended great. I feel like day one is usually like this because, you know, it’s day one- the hard part will come in the next few days but motivation fleets me. Though there was a little bit of temptation, it wasn’t strong enough to knock me off. I hit my fasting, steps, gym and macro goals for the day. One day down 59 more to go!
P.S I also feel great from the detox so I am sure that is giving me some motivation into this week.
Day 2
156 pounds | chest 40″ |waist 33″ | hips 42“
Dear Diary,
I always feel like day two and three are increasingly more difficult days. You aren’t far enough in to feel guilty about messing up, as you just started, why not start again? And if you allow this you could begin a vicious cycle of start-over. So, what’s important today is that we continue to stay strong. It’s just 16 hours to get through! We’ve got this!
Day 3
156 pounds | chest 40″ |waist 33″ | hips 42“
Dear Diary,
Today felt like I’m maintaining momentum. I have two days behind me and only four ahead of me once I get past today. What is helping me today is to just focus on the plan and not to get too lost in my thoughts. Once I start to think about what “sacrificing,” my evenings or food, then it becomes easier to say, “what was so bad about my situation before?” then bam- I’ll fall of the wagon.
So, let’s continue to do the things we need to and keep our mind occupied with work and other responsibilities.
Day 7
155.5 pounds | chest 40″ |waist 32.5″ | hips 42“
Dear Diary,
The rest of the week went by quickly. I completed 2-weight training days, 1- cardio day, and my diet was pretty locked in. Now, it wasn’t perfect, but I was increasingly more disciplined than I have been in the past.
I started out the week motivated but about midway through I could start to feel my bad-habit thoughts try to creep in. That’s why I needed to treat my diet like a job and just do it. I might have nibbled on a thing or two but it’s okay, I know I’ll get stronger with time.
Day 9
155.5 pounds | chest 40″ |waist 32.5″ | hips 42“
Dear Diary,
It’s Tuesday and I was able to get in a weight training day yesterday, Monday, and a cardio day, today. I have every intention of waking up early tomorrow morning to get another day of weight training in and making sure I’m hitting those protein goals.
Since the goal is 10-12K steps per day, I have noticed I am needing to be a little more creative in getting them in. It’s crucial that I get in 15min of walking in the morning- I don’t do this then I already feel I’m behind. I get my first 15 in by either walking after weight training or walking the pup. THEN about 3 hours later, I go for another 15-20 walk and THEN one last 15-20min walk in the evening. That does not include any smaller more conscious walking around I do throughout the day; like forcing myself to walk to someone’s office to chat instead of calling them. Or perhaps standing at my desk and using the stepper when I’m on a meeting. Sometimes I find myself pacing in the kitchenette while my food warms up- it all counts! Just stay moving. We’ve got this.
Day 14
153.4 pounds | chest 39″ |waist 32.5″ | hips 41.5“
Dear Diary,
I did it! I completed week 2. As you can see from the beginning of the week, the consistency is starting to pay off- I’m down 2 pounds!
Today also marked a 4th day of weight training. To be honest, if I had the consistent open time, I would prefer to do a 4-day split but since my weeks are always all over the place it makes it difficult to make that 4th day.
I’m not sure if anyone can share in this, but if I set a goal and not accomplish it, especially these baby step goals, I find it very discouraging. So, to trick my brain, I aim for 3-days weight training (which is still a decent goal) and if I’m able to do 4 then I feel even more accomplished. Knowing and being honest with yourself to the core makes managing yourself so much easier.
Day 21
152 pounds | chest 39″ |waist 32″ | hips 41″
Dear Diary,
It’s been another week since my last check-in. The weight is still dropping but it’s happening a little slower than I was hoping for. I’m averaging about a pound and a half every week which isn’t terrible but to be completely honest I am to blame. I am struggling with discipline.
Work has been a little crazy, so I have been noticing myself stress snacking. Knowing this, I need to start carrying some more snacky items that are good for me, so I reach for that instead.
Day 25
153 pounds | chest 39″ |waist 32″ | hips 41″
Dear Diary,
It looks like I have put on a pound, but I am on my period, so I am going to blame it on some bloat.
Currently and actually always, I’ve worked out during my period as normal. Like I still diet and do the same exercises regardless of how I feel. Sometimes I will drop the weight I am lifting if I have terrible crapping but other than that I don’t much of anything. I also have endometriosis so that plays a part.
There is something called cycle syncing that I would like to try eventually. It’s where you do certain workout routines based on where you are in your cycle. Once I get to where I’d like to be, I think this would be a good maintaining pattern I’d like to try. I also here a woman’s diet should also be changing based on our cycles as well, so I plan on throwing that in too!
Day 30
154 pounds | chest 39″ |waist 32″ | hips 41″
Dear Diary,
I am super bummed to see I went up yet another pound! I am off my period, so my bloat has gone down. The only hope I have is that perhaps I gained some muscle. This is where tracking your body fat percentage is way better than tracking weight. I have a scale that does this, but I failed to consistently track it. Perhaps I will start now as we still have 30 days to go!
Right now, is a good time to review and adjust. So that’s exactly what I’m doing. One thing I noticed is the number of days I was meal prepping. I was meal prepping consistently, but consistently too little. I would prep on Sunday for Monday thru Friday-Lunch. This left Friday night open to indulge, all day Saturday and Sunday night. I know this sounds like common sense and I should have realized this, but I didn’t.
So starting with tomorrow, my meals will look like this-
Monday-Thursday Meal Prep Lunch, Snack & Dinner
Friday- Meal Prep Lunch & Snack. For Dinner Andy and I will be making homemade healthy pizza
Saturday- Meal Prep Lunch & Snack, For Dinner we’re going to go on our weekly date and I will order healthy. This will also be my last meal until Sunday night as I do a 20-24hr fast this day.
Sunday- Lunch & Snack is fasted. Dinner I will break my fast with Bone Broth then eat another healthy pizza.
*no breakfast
Let’s see if I can get back down to 145 within the next four weeks!
